What is the NYIOOC?

If you’re not deep in the olive oil world (yet), you might be wondering why this matters. The NYIOOC (New York International Olive Oil Competition) is the global standard for olive oil quality. Each year, hundreds of producers from around the world—from Italy to Australia to Tunisia—submit their best oils for blind tasting and judging by a panel of international experts.

The competition is also closely tied to Olive Oil Times, the most respected and widely read publication dedicated to olive oil. Their team doesn’t just report the results—they help shape how consumers, chefs, and importers around the world understand and appreciate quality olive oil.
