A Family Tradition
OUR BERBER HERITAGE
We're a small family farm spanning five generations, and we still farm according to the lunar calendar - honoring the traditional farming methods of our Berber and Phoenician ancestors. We exclusively cultivate Tunisian olives, which have been native to our homeland for centuries.
Even today, we have maintain a staff of indigenous Berber women farmers who cultivate and farm our lands.
BERBER WOMEN & TATTOOS
The Damya logo was the tattoo worn by our indigenous Berber ancestors. It features two triangles with an olive tree in the middle; the tree symbolizes life, strength during adversity, knowledge, happiness, and fertility.
The Berber tattoo is a custom amongst Berber women, to adorn and beautify themselves. The tattoos also served to identify different tribes, with each geometric symbol to have its own meaning and magical virtues. Tattoos were believed to ward off the evil eye and bring good fortune and success.
